My New game Lineer Battle


Hi Everyone,

This is Engür Canfes, the game designer and developer of Lineer Battle. This is the short story of how this game came to be. 

My game development adventure started at the end of May 2024 and as soon as I understood that being involved in a project is the best way to learn game development.  So I started the development of "Lineer Battle" at the end of June. I continued non-stop at the end of August which is the release of "World of Warcraft: The War Within" Expansion. And it destroyed everything about my desire for development :D.  Before quitting first 6 levels were ready to release. But I wanted to release at least 10 levels. Or maybe released to Steam with 25 levels. The journey in my mind was 100 levels but after I took things seriously there was no chance of releasing 100 levels. Every experienced game developer was saying that when you start developing a game by yourself, you need to divide your plan in half and divide it in half again. Which means 25 levels for me. But when you take a break so long like 3 months. You can easily forget about anything in such a project. Even with a small game like this, it contains 40 classes and 3500 lines of code. I don't even mention the configurations of the project in Unity itself.  

Anyway, after 3 months, I decided to invest some time in showing people at least what have I done. So there it is the first 5 levels of the game. The most challenging thing for me to achieve is creating animations for a certain character and I don't have any skills to create art or graphics.  Maybe soon I can find someone to help me with the art of a game, so we can improve it together.
